Synopsis

A reluctantly clairvoyant college student who is tired of being called into service is pressed to risk everything to save a pregnant woman and her unborn child.

Jimmie Knight has every reason to walk away from the premonitions and their glimpses of people in danger. The flawed gift rarely offers proper details and always leads to destructive patterns of desperate action against an immovable fate. Amid the escalating demands of college work and the endless needs of his struggling rock band, this new vision eats away at him. If he can get through this one, he'll be done with it all.

He has forty-eight hours to discover who they are and where to find them. As he begins, his underworld counterpart storms back into his life, once again offering dark powers that could save lives. The demon stops at nothing to make him fail, and Jimmie's long-time girlfriend Ember can't bear to watch him be destroyed by his sense of duty to an ungrateful cosmos. Jimmie must not be swayed by any of it. Not by the demon or by Ember's doubts about the origin of his mystic power. Not by questions of moral responsibility or by the professors who fail him for missing his finals. Not by the needy members of his rock band, and not even by the love of his life when she throws him out.

When the mystic veil lifts, revealing the woman in the vision as someone he knows, the quest absolutely consumes him. He has already lost his girlfriend, his grades, his band, and graduation. As time grows short, what will Jimmie do to protect the woman and her child? Will he have no option but to accept the demon's deal?
