She must crawl through darkness to find the light that keeps hope alive
High school senior Sydney Saffro dies in an ambulance after nearly drowning in the deep, dark water of Ore Pit Pond. The circumstances of her death are sketchy at best, but best understood in the context of her possession by the demon who lives in that water.
Now she awakens in the Vestibule of Hell, which stands just outside of Hell proper at a higher plane and a wider circle. Filled with regrets for bargaining away her soul to the dime-store demon, she embarks on an epic journey toward redemption.
Guided by a young girl — who drowned in that same pond — Sydney finds herself on the path by which Virgil led Dante through the nine circles of Hell. The path to redemption is filled with peril and unspeakable horrors.
But maybe the journey is the demon's sinister ploy to draw her deeper into Hell.
